Derya Tilki obtained her medical degree at the University of Hamburg in Germany and received her urologic residency training in Munich, with a research fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center (New York, NY, USA). She received medical training in the United States at Wake Forest School of Medicine (Winston-Salem) and Harvard Medical School (Boston) and in Zurich, Switzerland. She is currently completing a uro-oncology fellowship at the University of California Davis (Sacramento, CA, USA). She is a member and chair of the Young Scholars Program of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Her research is focused on prostate and bladder cancer, with particular interest in tumor angiogenesis. She has authored and co-authored more than 100 publications.
