Dr. Stephan Madersbacher is an associate professor and vice chairman in the Department of Urology and Andrology at the Danube Hospital in Vienna, Austria. He completed his residency at the Department of Urology, Vienna Medical School, became a fellow of the European Board of Urology in 1999, and was a staff member at the Urological University Hospital in Berne, Switzerland, in 2001 - 2002. His research interest is lower urinary tract dysfunction, particularly in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), geronto-uro-oncologic aspects, and prostate and bladder cancer. He is a member of the German and European Association of Urology BPH guideline panels and has received 13 scientific awards.
